'Hole in the wall' diving deep in the depths of Fujairah - Saleh Al Dhouri
If you have only known UAE for its mesmerising skyscrapers and red sand dunes, then you are missing out on the spellbinding experience of diving in the tranquil seas of Fujairah. Counted among the most beautiful diving sites with likes of Seychelles, ‘Hole in the Wall’ is an underwater tunnel featuring wonderful sights.
Formed from a rock which runs for 130 metres with two pinnacles the site has a maximum depth of approximately 15 metres, and is a prime location for all levels of diving. Saleh Al Dhouri, a diving instructor and sea adventures team coordinator for Fujairah Adventures says the best time to experience the dive is between October to June, however, diving at the site during summer mornings can be the best activity to beat the heat and enjoy nature at the same time.
It is one of the Marine Protected Area in UAE, which is home to a variety of marine life such as rays, lionfish, and turtles amongst other marine species, and if you are lucky enough, you can spot reef sharks. It is a part of Eco-tourism destinations under Ministry of Climate Change and Environment.
